Eden University’s reliance on sound policies aimed at providing the best quality tertiary education despite the ever changing global education dynamics, continues to distinguish the University in Zambia and across borders.
In a quest for continuous capacity building, the University was honored to have been among the many participants at the Harmonisation of African Higher Education, Quality Assurance and Accreditation (HAQAA2) Quality Assurance workshop held. HAQAA2 is an initiative established to support the development of harmonized quality assurance standards and an accreditation system. Phase one of HAQAA1 was implemented from 2016 to 2018 and phase two from 2019 to 2022.
Eden University since attaining University status has continued to employ comprehensive quality assurance mechanisms in all its facets of dispensing world class tertiary education. Standing out as one of the few private Universities with a fully operational and functional internal quality assurance department, mandated to ensure that, programs on offer at the University meet both local and international regulation. These stringent measures have initiated world class partnerships improving the standards of education offered and even affording students the opportunity to participate in international student exchange programs. The university continues to set itself apart in the education sector, with the onboarding of unique programs tailored to cater to a niche and the affiliation to international partners, there is no doubt that the university is on the path to becoming a leader in tertiary education.
In its pursuit to be one of the top Universities in Zambia and Regionally the University has implemented robust systems that ensure quality service delivery that result in well-rounded and astutely trained graduates. This is evidenced by the University management’s continuous investment in modern and quality teaching infrastructure among which are state of the art well stocked clinical skills labs, medicine and nursing labs and spacious lecture rooms. This is coupled with a highly motivated and heavily qualified pool of lecturers drawn from across Africa and beyond.
Eden University was privileged to have been in attendance at this high level quality assurance workshop among other renowned professionals in the industry were: Prof. Pinalo Chifwanakeni – UNILUS Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Simukanga – HEA Director General, Dr. Vitalicy Chifwepa – HEA Director of Quality Assurance, Sarah Lang – DAAD representative, members of UNILUS Management and representatives of various Universities in Zambia.
Eden University which was represented by the institution’s Quality Assurance Manager Ms. Inonge Wamunyima and participants from other Universities concluded the workshop having completed the following modules;
- Contextualizing Quality Assurance in Higher Education Institutions
- Internal Quality Assurance in Higher Education
- Study/Learning Program Development
- Evaluation as an integral part of QA
- Basics of Project Management
- Change Management
Eden continues to pursue world class standards, participate in and domesticate good practices in continuous improvement of culture and on the quality of the programs the University offers.
