As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, Eden University proudly joined forces with the Ministry of Health in a collaborative effort to mitigate the spread of cholera in affected areas around the Matero Constituency. The exercise was spearhead by the Corporate Affairs Department along with the School of Medicine, particularly the Department of Environmental Health.
The University has taken proactive steps to address this public health challenge and has a dedicated team that have been actively involved in various aspects of the intervention, this includes but is not limited to the disinfection of 300 households and boarding houses around the surrounding community, the distribution of chlorine for water purification, disinfection of toilets and pit latrines, health education programmes to raise awareness and the crucial task of unblocking drainages.
These collective efforts underscore Eden University’s commitment to leveraging its expertise and resources to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of the communities it serves.
Through this collaboration, Eden University not only demonstrates its dedication to academic excellence but also showcases a strong sense of community responsibility by actively participating in initiatives that have a positive impact on public health and community welfare.
