The Registered Midwifery (Diploma) is a three year programme organized over six semesters with clinical attachment periods after semester.

The goal of the programme is to produce a polyvalent midwife who will practice midwifery in any part of the country, sub-region and globally. The student midwife will acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes to recognize the total reproductive health needs of individuals, families and communities and participate effectively in meeting those needs.

The programme trains students who are high school leavers to become professional Midwives irrespective of their creed, religion, tribe and ethnicity to care for pregnant, laboring and lactating women and their babies.
